Welcome to my website. I am an associate professor of political science at the University of New Mexico (UNM). I received my Ph.D. from the University of California, Davis in 2004 and arrived at UNM the following year, where I teach and conduct research in the field of American politics. I am currently the director of UNM’s Master of Public Policy Program. I provide political analysis to local and national media outlets, policy analyses for state policy makers, and routinely deliver presentations on relevant topics of American politics to local community organizations. I am a two-time recipient of the College of Arts and Sciences' Teaching Excellence Award (2010, 2023) and a recipient of UNM's inaugural Digital Literacy Innovation Award in 2021.
