Service has been a defining part of my career at UNM. Since earning tenure in 2011, I have led academic programs at every level — currently as director of the Master of Public Policy program, and previously as coordinator of the Political Science Internship Program, director of the department's Honors Program, and graduate advisor. I spent thirteen years on UNM's Athletic Council, including three as chair, where I focused on academic integrity and student-athlete welfare, chaired its Subcommittee on Equity, Welfare and Sportsmanship, and served as faculty liaison to the Lobo tennis programs. Beyond campus, I have served the discipline as co-chair of the American Political Science Association's Legislative Studies Section annual meeting and as a member of its executive committee, and I review regularly for the field's leading journals.
